Veneers Gravesend, Kent

Veneers can be used to correct the appearance of chipped, discoloured, gapped, or misshapen teeth. They are thin strips of tooth-coloured porcelain or resin that is bonded to the front surface of the teeth to disguise any imperfections. Porcelain veneers are stain-resistant, and resin veneers can be matched to your natural tooth colour.

What’s involved with getting porcelain veneers?

Dr Amin will shave off a small amount of enamel from the front of your natural teeth to ensure your veneers don’t add too much extra bulk to your mouth. He will also roughen the surface to aid the bonding process.

Dr Amin will take an impression of your teeth and send it away to a specialist laboratory. In the meantime, you will wear temporary veneers. Once your veneers are ready, you will have a follow-up appointment for your fitting.

How should I take care of my veneers?

Good oral hygiene can extend the life of your veneers. If you grind your teeth at night, ask Dr Amin about a night-time mouthguard to help protect your veneers.

Avoid chewing on pens, fingernails or other objects since this can damage the veneers.

How long will my veneers last?

Porcelain veneers can last 10-15 years, while composite resin veneers have an average lifespan of 5-7 years. If you are unhappy with your smile and are searching for ways to instantly improve your smile, veneers may be the solution.
